Today’s Message From Spirit: The Archer

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

“I learned to lose myself so effortlessly in the breathing that I sometimes had the feeling that I myself was not breathing but — strange as this may sound — being breathed.”

—Eugen Herrigel, Zen in the Art of Archery

Here we see the Sun lighting up the great archer shooting down the ten flaming suns threatening to annihilate their world with fire.

This is a somewhat complex day.

It’s a time where you might feel excluded, or even hated by others for who you naturally are — strangely despised for the extreme abuse, torment or torture you’ve been through.

Yes, this feels very unfair. But instead of dwelling on the injustices — bring the hidden agendas of their shadowlands out into the light. Reframe any conflict into dynamic tension. This then brings a creative force to the fore so that rather than separating things, we’re joining them. It could then even be a rewarding time of sharing creative ideas and different perspectives on things, rather than anyone trying to take control. We’re in a time of divergent philosophies and viewpoints causing conflicting loyalties. Where there’s no unity you can at least find that synthesis of complementary qualities that could lead to creative change. You’ve met the hateful ones — the ones that want to destroy you for no reason related to who you really are — who exclude and denigrate and attempt to diminish you.

Let me re-assure you of this — you will survive their bitter strategies. Don’t give up today whatever you do and no matter what lies and slander they say about you.

They are the smaller ones for what they do.

Don’t chase after anything that’s run away — let it go, if it returns, it was meant to be, if not, so be it.

And keep your mind and your beautiful heart warm and clear.

QUOTES

* “So understood, the art of archery is rather like a preparatory school for Zen, for it enables the archer to gain a clearer view, through the works of their own hands, of events which are not in themselves intelligible.”

Eugen Herrigel, Zen in the Art of Archery
