For light I go to the Source of Light, not to any of the reflections

So, the world is learning the value (and incredible rarity) of a truly enlightened teacher, and of the many dangers associated with a not-so-enlightened teacher.
We know now the living warmth of a community of spiritual peers as a wonderful space for sharing our spiritual values and truths.
DISMANTLING THE PEDESTAL
And the individual and spiritual community as a whole, is learning over and over to not give away its power to any figurehead, and to dismantle that pedestal, regardless.
Regardless of the great esteem held for any leader or teacher, the values of freedom and equality are now creating a democratically level playing field.
Thus, a beautiful balance of equality and transparency can be created and maintained between teacher and student.
CORRUPT TEACHERS
We know about the failure of corrupt teachers and we know about great teachers.
We know why we need expertise and why we require integrity.
Most spiritual communities are now repelled by the concept of a guru due to widespread media and legal exposure of global corruption.
BLIND DENIAL
And yet still blind denial exists within some spiritual communities who continue forgiving and re-placing that corrupt guru on their pedestal, as refusal to see what’s plainly evident.
That teacher is not going to change.
What kind of awakening would that take?
TRUE SPIRITUAL TEACHERS
And then — the question arises about the true value of a great spiritual teacher.
And the answer lives in lifetime/s of deeply experienced and understood traditional wisdom.
There’s also great value in spiritual initiation, but teachers who hold those keys without behaving with disgrace and corruption appear to be few and far between.
TRANSPARENT TEACHINGS
There’s such great value and beauty in a healthy relationship between teacher and student.
And transparency and accountability is now being required by the world, which is watching.
Very closely. No one is exempt.
Student. Or teacher.
Everyone needs to understand the potential pitfalls and the ethics of a spiritual teacher/student relationship.
ELUSIVE COMMUNITY
But is the relentless search for the elusive spiritual ‘community’ ever going to serve the seeker?
Is it ever really going to meet that deep need for connection?
Is it as rare as the exquisite diamond of true love or true friendship in this world?
And is there really ‘community’?
I believe so — it can be found in a sacred place where we meet with our peers, with a beautiful blend of ancient and contemporary values that do not violate body nor soul of each spiritual initiate.
THE REAL MAGIC
And let’s love any teacher who inspires and imparts wisdom, an awakening to the world of the ego, and opens the portal to another way.
But remain aware that no one teacher alone holds the absolute answer to individual and collective change.
And dance in that subtle place of dynamic balance.
This is where the real magic lives.
